What’s Brightening Up The Streets These Days?
If there is one person who knows what colors are trending in the streets today, it’s got to be Phil Oh or Mr. Street Pepper as he is better known. And when I say colors, I don’t mean the colors of the clothes people are wearing.
I mean the colors he sees when he “skims over the heads” in the streets.
Still need some more light on that?
Well, I’m talking about the hottest hair colors in street style this season.
There’s one particular trend that has consistently been on the fast trajectory for quite some time now. And it is pretty hard to not notice this one.
For reference, you can look through Phil Oh’s latest street shots.
Do you notice an eye-catching streak of bright rainbow colors going on there?
Well, that’s exactly what the biggest trend in street style is. Yes, it’s all about bright colors including platinums and pinks, sometimes even neons.
These colors really bring out the spirit of spring and summer right?
Now for those of you who don’t know, Phil Oh is one of the most sought after street style photographers in the world who runs a blog called Street Pepper. He was raised in Chicago but moved to NYC later on. He captures some of the world’s most interesting and colorful shots of fashionistas in the city streets.
Even some of the biggest supermodels of New York city are sporting some exciting colors. Jeremy Scott’s model Olesya Ivanishcheva has a neon pink crop on the runway which totally matched her cartoon sweater and lunch-box bag.
It’s not just women. Men are super excited to try new colors for their hair as well. And apparently their favorite color seems to be platinums and super light blondes.
When it comes to the cut, it is still the 2015 favorite – long on top and short sides which reduces the weight while keeping the impression of thick and healthy hair. One of the major advantages of this cut is that it can be easily styled in a plenty of ways. A little tousle can go a long way.
Sometimes the bright platinum-silver is done with hints of black at the roots. Now achieving just the perfect gradient takes a lot of effort and patience though, with several rounds of careful bleaching and conditioning. For those of you who are planning to go for this one, you might want to use special shampoos made for grey hair.
For some extra edge, there are also people like Zayn Malik, who dared to go for a light pink instead of the platinum along with the black roots. That’s catching up quite fast too.
Looks like the lighter shades are in for the long haul. From striking platinums to blondes to pinks, for both men and women, they have all been ruling the streets for a considerably long time now and there are no signs of them fading away soon.
