SSS World Corp. Is Launched And It Is The Epitome Of Innovation!
SSS World Corp. The name sounds like a high-end legendary masterpiece of a label doesn’t it?
Well, that’s exactly what it is. It is the latest innovation in streetwear by someone that we have known for quite some time in the fashion world.
We know him better as the creative director of the much sought after Italian menswear couture house Brioni.
Our very own Justin O’ Shea.
Now you might be thinking, “Hey, what does a person who has been working with made-to-measure Italian Haute Couture and sartorial suits know about streetwear?”
Well, as paradoxical as it may seem, it is a wonderful idea and clearly a good reason to celebrate for street fashion lovers, because the collection carries just as much grandeur and quality as the name suggests.
Justin O’ Shea stepped down from his brief role of the creative director of Brioni last October and since then, he has been working on this menswear project. And unlike a lot of hip hop and urbanwear collabs we see these days, SSS World Corp is self-funded by Shea. Although he did seek the help of Berlin based magazine 032c production support, manufacturing and fashion market advice.
In connection with his launch, he debuted his collection with a Guerrilla Fashion Show in the streets of Paris. Now how’s that for a streetwear brand launch?
I mean, I’ve come across a number of streetwear brand launches, but I think Justin O’ Shea just showed us how it can be done right! What better way to introduce street fashion than with a street fashion show right?
Coming back to the collection, it was majorly inspired by some styles that moved him such as pimps, gangsters and Metallica. Yes, that’s what makes the collection so different, and in fact that’s exactly what Shea was going for.
He said, “There needs to be some kind of element of contradiction and something which makes them feel like they’re getting individuality rather than something that’s a blank approach.”
The collection includes shirts, Tees, footwear, outerwear, swim wear and jewelry too. He plans to bring the best of high quality tailoring as well as streetwear sensibilities and make it available at prices in the likes of those in Supreme.
Well, I guess his experience at Italian Haute Couture did come in handy. We can’t wait to try them on can we?
