A peek in to the Fashion sense of Kanye West
Experiencing a range of ups and downs in the Fashion world, Kanye West has finally emerged as one of the most followed fashion celebrity these days. Yes! It is true that he had some failed projects including the famous DW one but he has surely learnt the lessons. Let us have a look at his Fashion styles being adopted in the past few years, just to celebrate his 40th birthday.
Well! I can, in the first instance, can clearly recall when he wore a leather kilt by Givenchy in 2011and stirred a sort of debate in the fashion circles. But he was still positive and was of the opinion that he is a trendsetter in his own way. His point of view made sense in many ways as with the changing trends, we have learnt that the fashion world is now moving towards neutral trends irrespective of the traditional perceptions of gender-specific designs and styles of clothing.
A couple of years later in 2013, Mr. West went for a contrasting wardrobe with the customized designs by Maison Margiela for his Yeezus tour. The exclusively designed 10 couture pieces along with the 20 ready-made dresses became the talk of the town.
The kilt worn by West, although, did not affect the fashion trends directly as such but still we can witness a touch of its inspiration when we look at the long-length XXL T-shirts worn with the sweaters and jackets especially if the collection by John Elliot is closely observed.
When in 2011, Kanye openly appreciated Richardo Tisci, there rose the rumors of him being “gay” as the people saw the praise in an entirely different perspective which was undoubtedly unjustified and unreasonable on their part. On the other hand, the fact is that West wearing a kilt gave rise to a whole new concept of neutral clothing and hence later on, we had even the trend of men wearing skirts also.
