Karl Lagerfeld x Vans: A Match Made in Fashion Heaven!
You know the excitement and anticipation when the big names in the fashion world come together?
It’s an all new collection of awesomely designed garments for all and it is an occasion of celebration for the retailers and fashion stores having gotten the chance to sell the merchandise, some even being the very first few ones to sell them.
As for the renowned designers, well it’s a celebration for them as well for having found a great way to create new garments and new styles.
Today we’re talking about one such super creative collaboration. The internet is about to go crazy over them again.
It is two of the most iconic designers in fashion and together they have stepped into street style with a brand new collection for this fall and it ruled fashion week!
Make way for Karl Lagerfeld x Vans people!
That’s right. If that is not a statement by itself, I don’t know what is.
The two just launched their apparel and footwear capsule collection this month after their presentation at the Berlin’s Bread and Butter Trade Show earlier.
You know what makes this collection extra special though, aside from the fact that it is two of the most popular fashion giants working together?
Well, it is the enviable marriage between a high fashion luxury label and a coveted streetwear label. And what’s more, both of these labels have always been known for their classy collaborations as well. So they really know the science of combining features or aesthetics together.
You can literally count on them for putting together a British look with probably some west side leather pants and a button down shirt with a fedora.
It was Lagerfeld’s namesake clothing line that became the first choice for H & M’s designer series and as for Vans, you already know about their hit collabs with brands like Thrasher and Opening Ceremony, don’t you?
The collection gives sufficient weightage to 6 styles by giving them the classic Lagerfeld features and there are also some iconic pieces like the Sk8-Hi, the Old Skool and the Classic Slip-ons made from leather with the signature quilted “K” of course.
Overall, the clothing will definitely be continuing the tradition of black and white motifs with some unique pieces like a raglan sleeve bomber and a leather backpack with the quilted “K” again.
About the collection, Dabney Lee, senior director of global footwear merchandising for Vans says, “We’re really excited about this, our design team worked closely with Karl’s team to make sure we built a collection that celebrated both brands – we wanted it to be iconic Karl meets iconic Vans. There are some styles that celebrate our classics with twists on the fabric or the print and then there are some that are brand new styles for us that are a little bit directional and a little more Karl.”
Couldn’t have put it any better right?
You know what the highlight of the entire collection will be though?
It’s the one pair of shoes that combines the iconic checkerboard pattern of Vans with Karl’s iconic profile.
Tempted enough to go for it?
Then look no further. The pricing ranges from $40 to $300, so there’s something for everyone.
And it will be available across international Karl Lagerfeld boutiques, select Vans stores and online of course. Go right ahead and start choosing!
