High-Waisted Pants Are Making A Solid Comeback!
Denim track pants and high-wasted pants are still trending on the streets. It seems like the era of low and extra low-waisted pants for men are slowly coming to an end. Actually, it might not necessarily be their end because trends always keep coming back in fashion, but at least it looks like low-waisted pants are on the brink of a possible downward slope in the fashion cycle.
I know. It has been quite a long journey with our boy-next-door loose hanging low waisted pants, especially in street and urban wear. And it might be hard to say goodbye to them. But for some reason a little voice in my head keeps telling me that it might not be a permanent goodbye. So I think we can all chill there.
But guess what they are making way for?
And it is none other than some of the most influential high fashion brands that are embracing and hiking up the trend, like Bottega Veneta, Giorgio Armani and Louis Vuitton.
Yes, the very same brands that showed us how to rock low waisted or joggers online easy silhouettes.
Recently GQ shot some amazing pictures with Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt in some interesting high waisted pants of different kinds.
They were also the most prominent style at this month’s European men’s shows and showcased by well-known designers like Stefano Pilati and Sibling.
Now these pants come in a variety of styles from pleated to self-belted ones to slim fits. Denims are also embraced in the high waisted trend.
It’s like one of the most versatile style trends of the 90’s just came back in a more versatile manner. One day we hear that high waist is trending and the next day, we see high waists in every fashion show, every fabric and every silhouette possible on the streets as well. Talk about fast fashion!
Here we can see the trend in a loose fitting silhouette paired with a simple T-shirt and canvas pumps.
There are also a number of designers that think that high-waisted pants could just be the future of fashion. And it might just be true.
As we move forward in fashion, we are increasingly embracing the 80’s and 90’s fashion trends and quite literally, just as soon as we shifted to loose over-sized clothing in the past, now people are all about classic old tailored fashion. So you see how we are slowly coming back to where we started?
Well, let’s see where this new trend is taking us in the future. Be prepared for a revolution though, because I think high-waists is in for the long haul.
